About The Position
FNF Construction, Inc., a MasTec Company, is hiring for a Structure Superintendent for the Tempe, AZ area. The Structure Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all field operations associated with bridge, retaining wall, box culvert, drainage structure, and structural concrete construction projects. This position provides leadership to field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and company standards. FNF performs complex highway and transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Southwest. Travel is required. This is a safety sensitive position. Specializing in heavy highway construction and general engineering, we operate primarily throughout the Southwest as a general contractor, subcontractor, and producer of aggregate and asphaltic concrete. Requirements
- Candidates must have an acceptable 3 year driving history to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be willing to travel.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the asphalt hot plant, including startup, production, and shutdown
- Coordinate production schedules to meet project demands and timelines
- Monitor plant efficiency and adjust operations to maximize productivity
- Ensure all asphalt mixes meet DOT and company quality standards
- Work with QC/QA personnel to test and adjust mix designs
- Identify and resolve production or material quality issues
- Supervise plant operators, mechanics, and labor personnel
- Assign work tasks, set schedules, and oversee daily activities
- Provide training on plant operations, safety procedures, and company standards
- Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs of plant equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime
- Ensure safe and efficient use of all plant machinery
- Enforce company safety policies and regulatory requirements (OSHA/MSHA)
- Conduct safety meetings and ensure safe work practices
- Maintain environmental compliance (air quality, dust control, emissions)
- Monitor and control production costs, fuel usage, and material consumption
- Manage inventory of aggregates, asphalt oil, and additives
- Coordinate purchasing and vendor relationships for plant materials
- Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and dispatch/trucking teams
- Provide updates on production status, delays, and operational challenges
- Support overall project success through timely material delivery
