About The Position

This position is responsible for providing on-site “functional” (i.e. structures, concrete, underground, etc.) supervision of a project. The role involves comprehending and administering a safety program, fostering environmental compliance, and creating a quality culture. The superintendent will supervise the functional construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. This includes planning, coordinating, and managing resources, supervising craft employees for productivity and efficient use of materials/equipment, and assisting the project team in scheduling and developing work plans. The role requires interfacing with all on-site work teams, including subcontractors, to resolve problems and ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 5+ years in construction management and/or craft supervision experience (i.e. Foreman) in a similar field of construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.
  • Excellent management skills

  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Foster a quality culture to ensure a high-quality product or service.

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Supervise craft employees to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance.
  • Assist the project team in scheduling, developing, and implementing project Work Plans and procedures.
  • Interface with all on-site work teams, including subcontractors, to resolve problems and ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
