About The Position

Hunter Contracting Co. is a family-owned, heavy civil contracting firm serving Arizona since 1961. We are looking for good, hard-working, high-energy, self-motivating, professional individuals to grow with our project needs. The Structures Foreman will oversee, direct, and manage activities of workers concerned with assigned construction phases pertaining to constructing or erecting, using steel and/or wood forms and other material, to build box culverts, arch culverts, bridges, water/waste water plant concrete structures, concrete reservoirs, concrete lift station structures, to set forms for curb and gutter, handicap ramps, scuppers, catch basins, roadways, and all other concrete related construction on projects; in cooperation with other Foremen, Superintendents, and General Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of organizational operating practices or procedures.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction projects.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, train, and direct people as they work while identifying the best people for the job.
  • Ability to manage own time and the time of others.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and be able to adapt to a wide variety of conditions.
  • Takes pride in craftsmanship.
  • Possesses a valid Drivers License.
  • MUST HAVE five (5) + years experience as a concrete finisher and formsetter
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) + year(s) of supervisory experience
  • Minimum five (5) years’ structural steel, concrete, and heavy highway construction experience
  • Equivalent combinations of training and related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee structural steel and construction activities in accordance with plans, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate and supervise employees, subcontractors, suppliers, equipment, materials, surveying, testing, and utilities.
  • Review contract documents, estimates, drawings, and quantities; identify conflicts and assist with estimates, change orders, and cost control.
  • Develop look-ahead schedules and monitor labor, equipment, materials, productivity, quality, and job costs.
  • Inspect work, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, as-builts, quantity reports, production records, and timesheets.
  • Ensure structural steel is properly installed and piece-marked according to plans.
  • Train, direct, and motivate field personnel while addressing production and personnel issues.
  • Enforce Hunter Contracting Co. safety policies, conduct toolbox meetings, and maintain a safe, clean, and compliant jobsite.
  • Communicate project needs, progress, and issues to the Superintendent, Project Manager, and project team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
