About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is looking for a Mid-Level Structures Design Engineer to work at our Everett, WA location. This role involves developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. The engineer will also develop, maintain, and modify these systems and components using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other design methods, providing product definition throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing supplier development, test, and production activities, coordinating with suppliers to optimize designs, and developing new design/analysis processes and tools. The role also involves investigating emerging technologies for future product concepts and working under general direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years related work experience in aerospace structural design
  • Experience with PDM/ENOVIA/CATIA V5 and Boeing specific design tools and processes
  • Experience in development of new or derivative airplanes
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • DevOps/SPEED expert with ability to coordinate between teams and process owners
  • Experience as NFLAM/NBMNT/Module Owner ideally for 777
  • Experience to conduct technical checks using criteria aligned to 777 release packages
  • Familiarity with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries build process, Everett Factory Final assembly, and metallic fuselage structure
  • Works independently and across disciplines to solve complex structural integration issues

Responsibilities

  • Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
  • Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
  • Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
