About The Position

We are seeking highly skilled Airframe and Powerplant Technicians (AMTs) with a strong rotorcraft background and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in aircraft maintenance and structural repair. The selected candidates will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, repairs, and structural modifications on both company-owned and customer-operated aircraft in accordance with Air Methods’ established policies and procedures. This role requires strict adherence to all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and company standards. The AMT will ensure that all maintenance documentation is accurately completed and maintained in compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency while supporting company operational goals and maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness and reliability. An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate is desired but not required. Candidates without an A&P who possess the required rotorcraft experience and qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aircraft maintenance and structural repair
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five to seven years’ related aircraft sheet metal repair and modification experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blue prints
  • Experience reading precision measuring equipment
  • Experience in use of sheet metal related shop equipment
  • Proficient in using manufacturer’s maintenance manuals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Subject to drug/alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Strong rotorcraft background
  • FAA A&P License in good standing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete structural modifications to helicopters
  • Install medical support systems into helicopters
  • Install avionics systems and STC kits into helicopters
  • Accomplish airframe structural repairs
  • Replace and repair components in accordance with aircraft maintenance manuals
  • Perform operational checks of helicopter systems
  • Perform track and balance operations on helicopter rotor systems
  • Fabricate detail sheet metal parts from blueprints
  • Develop custom installations for medical and avionics equipment
  • Travel to base locations to accomplish repairs or modifications
  • Maintain shop equipment and areas
  • Perform maintenance on rotating components of helicopters, i.e. Engines, Transmission, and Drive Shafts
  • Train new employees on United Rotorcraft processes & procedures
  • Other Duties as assigned.
