About The Position

Vista Aircraft Maintenance Red Wing is seeking to hire a highly skilled Lead A&P Technician to support our FAA Part 145 Repair Station. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience with Citation 560 and X, Challenger 300/350, and Bombardier Global series aircraft. This role requires ensuring all maintenance activities meet FAA, manufacturer, and company standards, while supervising and mentoring technicians in a structured repair station environment. Vista Aircraft Maintenance is the in-house maintenance provider for Vista Members’ unrivaled fleet of over 300 aircraft worldwide, including light, super mid-size, long-range, and ultra-long-range models, with maintenance hubs strategically located across the U.S. and Europe.

Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Minimum 5+ years of business jet maintenance experience, with expertise on Citation 560/X, Challenger 300/350, and Bombardier Global series aircraft.
  • At least 3+ years of leadership experience in an aviation environment.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate maintenance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, repair station operations, and quality control requirements.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance tracking systems (CAMP, Corridor, Traxxall, or equivalent).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duty, as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Factory or OEM training on Citation, Challenger, or Global aircraft.
  • Previous leadership experience in a Repair Station or corporate aviation setting.
  • Extensive background in Part 135 and/or Part 145 operations.
  • Familiarity with SMS (Safety Management Systems) and AS9110 quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on Citation 560/X, Challenger 300/350, and Bombardier Global aircraft within a Part 145 Repair Station.
  • Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with FAA regulations, repair station manuals, and customer requirements.
  • Direct, mentor, and assist technicians, ensuring tasks are performed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot complex systems including avionics, hydraulics, structures, and engines, providing technical expertise and solutions.
  • Review and approve work order documentation, log entries, and forms in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate daily workflow, prioritize projects, and communicate progress to the Accountable Manager and management team.
  • Ensure tooling, equipment, and materials are properly used, maintained, and calibrated per repair station requirements.
  • Assist with internal audits, quality inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Act as a liaison when needed, providing updates on project status and technical findings.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to continuous improvement processes.
