Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and/or managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Demonstrated experience building key relationships across organizations to achieve strategic and/or tactical goals
  • Active Top Secret or SCI Security Clearance prior to start

  • Fundamental understanding of flight hardware design, structural/thermal analysis, integration, and test principles
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical drafting standards and techniques
  • Experience leading design efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities
  • Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers
  • Previous production, operations, CAM, proposal, and/or IPT lead experience
  • Willingness to mentor and develop junior engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 10-20 multi-disciplinary engineers (design and analysis) supporting present and future space programs by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviews
  • Work collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills
  • Represent the organization in internal and external stakeholder interactions by practicing Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors while facilitating the resolution of technical issues
  • Oversee technical product management for program life cycles while implementing strategic initiatives for affordability and efficiency across the programs your team supports
  • Maintain full command over program priorities and schedules by holding your team accountable to achieve key milestones and deliver value
  • Support the acquisition of new business by generating Basis of Estimate inputs for proposals and evaluating your team’s ability to execute proposed scope
