Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience leading and/or managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Demonstrated experience building key relationships across organizations to achieve strategic and/or tactical goals
Active Top Secret or SCI Security Clearance prior to start

Fundamental understanding of flight hardware design, structural/thermal analysis, integration, and test principles
Fundamental understanding of mechanical drafting standards and techniques
Experience leading design efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities
Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers
Previous production, operations, CAM, proposal, and/or IPT lead experience
Willingness to mentor and develop junior engineers
Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 10-20 multi-disciplinary engineers (design and analysis) supporting present and future space programs by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviews
Work collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills
Represent the organization in internal and external stakeholder interactions by practicing Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors while facilitating the resolution of technical issues
Oversee technical product management for program life cycles while implementing strategic initiatives for affordability and efficiency across the programs your team supports
Maintain full command over program priorities and schedules by holding your team accountable to achieve key milestones and deliver value
Support the acquisition of new business by generating Basis of Estimate inputs for proposals and evaluating your team’s ability to execute proposed scope
