About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Structured Cabling Technician to join our project team supporting telecommunications and network infrastructure installations. The Technician will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of low-voltage cabling projects, including fiber optic and copper cabling installations, pathway construction, rack and stack activities, cable terminations, testing, labeling, and telecommunications room build-outs. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work while maintaining professionalism on customer job sites.

Requirements

Experience with structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage installations preferred.
Knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling systems.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cable installation equipment safely.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to read and follow installation drawings, work orders, and project documentation.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to distinguish color codes and accurately read a tape measure.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Responsibilities

Install and support structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper infrastructure.
Perform cable pulling, routing, dressing, and securing for telecommunications systems.
Assist with OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) installations.
Build and organize telecommunications rooms, MDFs, and IDFs.
Perform rack and stack installations of network and telecommunications equipment.
Terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling.
Install cable pathways including ladder racks, J-hooks, conduit, sleeves, and cable tray systems.
Maintain accurate documentation and labeling according to project standards.
Follow all applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.
Ensure job site safety and compliance with company and customer requirements.
Collaborate with team members and project leadership to complete work efficiently and on schedule.
