About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Structured Cabling Technician to join our project team supporting telecommunications and network infrastructure installations. The Technician will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of low-voltage cabling projects, including fiber optic and copper cabling installations, pathway construction, rack and stack activities, cable terminations, testing, labeling, and telecommunications room build-outs. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work while maintaining professionalism on customer job sites.

Requirements

  • Experience with structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage installations preferred.
  • Knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cable installation equipment safely.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and follow installation drawings, work orders, and project documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to distinguish color codes and accurately read a tape measure.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install and support structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper infrastructure.
  • Perform cable pulling, routing, dressing, and securing for telecommunications systems.
  • Assist with OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) installations.
  • Build and organize telecommunications rooms, MDFs, and IDFs.
  • Perform rack and stack installations of network and telecommunications equipment.
  • Terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Install cable pathways including ladder racks, J-hooks, conduit, sleeves, and cable tray systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and labeling according to project standards.
  • Follow all applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure job site safety and compliance with company and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and project leadership to complete work efficiently and on schedule.
