About The Position

The Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work, and capacity management. This role involves the installation of structured cabling, management of infrastructure inventory levels, and the physical installation of network and server racks and/or devices. The position requires reporting to a site location and working in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks. The technician will assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale the network, launch cutting-edge server technologies, and solve diverse networking impairments. Success in this role requires quickly and accurately assessing a wide range of infrastructure issues, understanding computers, servers, switches, and various networking devices from both hardware and software perspectives, and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. The ideal candidate will possess technical aptitude, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to deal effectively with people in various situations. Additionally, strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to exercise high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.

Requirements

  • Structured cabling experience, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber infrastructure.
  • Expertise in Cat5/6 and fiber installation, termination, patch panel setup, and cable testing using Fluke and OTDR tools.
  • Experience in telecommunications or similar industrial/production environments (e.g., data centers, warehouses, distribution centers) with strong operational, logistics, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cable vendors to install, inspect and troubleshoot cabling
  • Installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructure
  • Install, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords
  • Ensure that the Data Center and vendor installations comply with all installation practices
  • Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, email and slack
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers
  • Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness
  • Work with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positions
  • Manage, check and coordinate all materials to be delivered to site daily
  • Carry cell phone for communication, information, and emergencies
