About The Position

The Structure Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for bridge, retaining wall, box culvert, and other structural construction projects. This role works closely with operations, engineering, and project management teams to evaluate plans, specifications, quantities, and production strategies.

Requirements

  • Ability to review bridge and structure plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Ability to perform quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, piling, cofferdams, and related work.
  • Ability to develop labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor cost estimates.
  • Ability to solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Ability to identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Ability to participate and lead bid reviews and estimate presentations.
  • Ability to support project handoff meetings after award.
  • Ability to support operation team with technical change order pricing.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy civil or bridge construction experience.
  • Knowledge of MoDOT bridge specifications.
  • Experience estimating cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and foundation systems.
  • Familiarity with Ineight Estimate, HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, AGTEK, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software.
