About The Position

This is an entry-level role where you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, working under the direction of a licensed engineer. Projects may include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors. You will work closely with an experienced structural engineer to develop new or analyze existing structural systems for institutional, sports, and corporate/commercial buildings. You will perform design calculations under direct supervision, use relevant engineering software for design and documentation, and utilize Autodesk Revit to develop BIM models for producing Contract Documents. Responsibilities also include assisting in the production of Contract Documents (foundation plans, floor framing plans, roof plans, sections, details, and specifications), interfacing effectively with design team members for coordination, and assisting in the review of shop drawings during the construction phase. Field observations during the construction phase, including site walk-throughs, may also be required. Overtime work is expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor in Civil Engineering with Structural focus, Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering (Structural emphasis) required by hire date.
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, RAM, RISA) required.
  • Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Master degree is preferred.
  • Related student internship work experience preferred.
  • EIT, LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • May perform field observations during construction phase, including a physical walk through of site.
  • Must be willing to perform overtime work.
  • May perform other duties as required.
