About The Position

The Structural Welder is a member of the construction team and reports to the Danos Superintendent. The role involves welding piping and structural components using multiple welding processes and following supplied fabrication drawings, job specifications, and welding procedures. The successful candidate supports safety, strong work ethic, technical skill, open communication, customer focus, and the implementation of company vision and values. The rotational schedule and crew change location are listed as TBD.

Requirements

• Three or more years of prior offshore welding experience.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Exceptional understanding of safety processes and practices.
• Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
• TWIC card.
• Ability to weld in required positions using GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW processes.
• Ability to interpret supplied piping and structural fabrication drawings.
• Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to specifications and procedures.
• Ability to safely handle compressed gas and oxygen cylinders.

Responsibilities

• Weld various materials in required positions using processes including GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW.
• Lay out, position, fit, and weld piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, piping supports, structural plates, and beams, in accordance with supplied fabrication drawings.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
• Adjust valves, gauges, and flames as needed, and safely handle compressed gas and oxygen cylinders.
• Operate an air arc gouger, grinder, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
• Participate in JSAs and other Safety, Health and Environmental processes.
• Conduct behavioral-based safety observations.
• Mentor new employees.
