About The Position

A member of the construction team reporting to the Danos Superintendent. The Structural Welder performs welding on various materials and positions using welding processes including GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW. The role involves fitting and welding piping and structural components according to supplied fabrication drawings, operating and troubleshooting welding equipment, and handling compressed gas and oxygen cylinders safely. The position also participates in safety, health, and environmental processes and conducts behavioral-based safety observations.

Requirements

• Three or more years of prior offshore welding experience.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Exceptional understanding of safety processes and practices.
• Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
• TWIC card.
• Ability to perform welding using GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW processes.
• Ability to work from supplied piping and structural fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on various materials and in required positions using processes including GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW.
• Lay out, position, fit, and weld piping and structural components—including pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, piping supports, plates, and beams—in accordance with supplied fabrication drawings.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
• Adjust valves, gauges, and flames as needed, and safely handle compressed gas and oxygen cylinders.
• Operate an air arc gouger, grinder, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
• Participate in JSA’s and other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes.
• Conduct behavioral-based safety observations.
• Mentor new employees.
