About The Position

HUTCO, Inc. is seeking a first-class Structural Welder to work in Tampa, Florida. The position pays $29 per hour, with a $120 daily per diem for those who qualify. The role involves welding work and requires working in confined spaces, handling welding machines and tools, moving loads, and navigating shipyard environments and elevated work areas. The role includes substantial physical activity: entering confined spaces and manholes, handling loads up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and moving over scaffolding, gangways, uneven surfaces, and around obstructions. A limited benefit plan is available to Hutco, Inc. employees through Essential Staff Care.

Requirements

Working history as a first-class Welder, or six months to one year of experience as a second-class Welder.
Minimum ability to read and write.

High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma.

Responsibilities

Perform structural welding work.
Enter and work in internally confined spaces, including manholes with an inside diameter of 18 inches.
Manipulate and transport loads of up to 50 pounds over distances of up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8-hour shift.
Operate machines and tools essential to the Welder position.
Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights and negotiate uneven heights between dock and vessel.
Traverse uneven surfaces and maneuver around piping obstructions and web frames.
Ascend and work at heights of up to 30 feet.
Perform work involving stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
