About The Position

Perform work requiring a high degree of precision using hand welding equipment and proficiency in welding processes for structural and process pipe applications. Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines in accordance with job specifications and welding procedures. Preheat and weld metal components according to blueprints, welding symbols, job specifications, and welding procedures. Perform welding repairs, including repairs to substandard welds, and operate related industry machines, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent, with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Must possess the working knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, which may exceed 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
• Preheat and weld metal components as specified by blueprints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures.
• Weld using FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW processes.
• Operate an air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
• Make welding repairs and repair substandard welds.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
