This role involves joining metal components with precision using electric arc welding equipment and interpreting blueprints to create solutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Vocational training or hands-on experience with welding tools and techniques (preferred).
  • Demonstrate mastery by passing a rigorous all-position 3G FCAW/GMAW and 6G GTAW multi-pass single-V groove weld Welder Performance Qualification Test with Visual Examination and Guided Bend Testing per AWS D1.1.
  • Minimum 3 years in production welding.
  • Multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding).
  • Expert-level Oxygen/Propane heating (torch) operations.
  • Read and interpret weld symbols.
  • Thrive in demanding, hands-on environments.
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Air carbon arc gouging expertise.
  • Master fillet and bridge cam gauges with accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in new environments (for travel positions).
  • Excellence in consistent work environments with evolving challenges (for local positions).
  • Vision sharp enough to read fine print and identify precise markings on calibrated tools.
  • Hearing alert to safety signals and able to communicate effectively.
  • Engage confidently in conversations and group presentations.
  • Operate diverse tools including arc welding equipment, oxy-fuel cutting, grinders, cranes, and more.
  • Carry/lift up to 50lbs.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Work at heights up to 15 feet.
  • Stand, sit, walk, squat, and navigate varied work environments with ease.
  • Ability to work extended periods away from home while maintaining high performance standards (for travel positions).
  • Consistent high performance in familiar environments (for local positions).
  • Current work authorization required.

Nice To Haves

  • Travel welding experience highly preferred for travel positions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead welding/fabrication projects from start to finish.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform hand grinding to prepare materials.
  • Monitor work to exceed quality standards.
  • Collaborate with skilled Fitters and crews.
  • Maintain impeccable safety standards and workspace organization.
  • Adapt to new work environments and project requirements (for travel positions).
  • Excel in consistent environments while adapting to evolving project needs (for local positions).
