About The Position

Hutco, Inc. is seeking first-class structural welders with shipyard experience for long-term work in Hahnville, Louisiana. Candidates will take an on-site test to assess their capabilities. The position is on the night shift, with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours. No TWIC card is required, and per diem is not available. Lots of hours are available.

Requirements

• First-class structural welding skills.
• Experience working in shipyards.
• Ability to pass an on-site skills test.
• Ability to perform the listed physical and work-environment demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding work.
• Enter and work in internally confined spaces.
• Manipulate and transport loads of up to 50 pounds over distances of up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8-hour shift.
• Operate machines and tools essential to the work of a welder.
• Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights, and negotiate uneven heights between the dock and vessel.
• Traverse uneven surfaces and maneuver around piping obstructions and web frames.
• Ascend and work at heights.
• Perform work involving stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
