About The Position

This role is responsible for joining and repairing metal components according to drawings and weld symbols to ensure assemblies meet strength and visual standards. The position involves setting up and performing welding processes and inspections while adhering to safety and quality procedures. The individual will use heat and hand-held welding equipment, follow blueprints and technical drawings, set up and prepare metal components, perform welds with various techniques, inspect the quality of work, and maintain equipment while adhering to strict safety protocols. Key responsibilities include weld preparation, fit-up, welding per WPS, visual inspection and basic rework, and weld tracking and documentation. The role also supports material handling and fit-up with other trades, and equipment maintenance and consumable control. Recommendations or preparations for procedure or fixture improvements for quality/throughput are expected, as is escalating nonconforming welds, safety concerns, or drawing conflicts.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass required plate welding test (horizontal and vertical)
  • Proven experience performing tasks with limited supervision
  • Reliable attendance
  • Ability to follow safety rules and work procedures
  • Proficiency with trade tasks such as Fabrication, Grinding, Hand Tools, Oxy-Fuel, and Welding
  • Demonstrated work practices including Communication, Teamwork, and Time Management

Responsibilities

  • Weld prep, fit‑up, and welding per WPS
