About The Position

The Pipe Welder/Pipe Fitter performs pipe welding and fitting for stainless and carbon steel pipes. This role involves daily responsibilities such as troubleshooting and repairing process piping and equipment, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment within the facility. The welder will work under the direction and supervision of others, performing welding for stainless and carbon steel pipes. This position requires reading and interpreting work orders, flow sheets, blueprint drawings, vendor specs, and/or P&ID’s to understand issues and determine required repairs. The role also includes process equipment assembly and installation, equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, problem-solving, pipe fitting, rigging, and equipment installation. Additionally, the welder will assist with process equipment assembly and installation, perform lubrication on equipment as needed and directed, and complete data entry into the work order system as required. Miscellaneous duties as assigned are also part of the role. All candidates must pass specific 6G tests as part of the interview process.

Requirements

  • Proficient in TIG welding, MIG welding, and stick welding.
  • Proficient in using hand, power, and shop tools.
  • Must pass the following 6G tests as part of the interview process: 2" carbon steel tig root, tig cover 6" schedule 40, tig root, stick cover, 7018 2" stainless steel, tig root, tig cover.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, flow sheets, blueprint drawings, vendor specs, and/or P&ID’s.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipe welding and fitting for stainless and carbon steel pipes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair process piping and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment within the facility.
  • Read and interpret work orders, flow sheets, blueprint drawings, vendor specs, and/or P&ID’s to understand issues and determine required repairs.
  • Perform all types of welding, brazing, and soldering repair, replace, and installation of stainless and carbon steel plate and pipe, aluminum, copper, and all other metals.
  • Perform process equipment assembly and installation.
  • Conduct equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Assist with process equipment assembly and installation.
  • Perform lubrication on equipment as needed and directed.
  • Complete data entry into the work order system as required.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
