About The Position

Plan, lay out, weld, install, and repair structural steel products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards. Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines and use other industry tools and equipment. The role is based in a construction or industrial environment and may involve irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.

Requirements

• Must pass a structural weld test.
• Must be able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, a fit-for-duty medical assessment, and a background check.
• Must be able to meet the physical and environmental demands of work at a construction or industrial site, including climbing and maintaining balance on formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; working in confined, cluttered, uneven, noisy, and dusty areas; and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
• Preheat and weld metal components according to blueprints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures.
• Weld using FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW processes.
• Operate an air arc gouger, grinder, stress-relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
• Make welding repairs and repair substandard welds.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
