About The Position

Perform precision welding work using hand welding equipment and demonstrate proficiency in welding processes for structural and process pipe applications. Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures. Preheat and weld metal components based on blueprints, welding symbols, job specifications, or procedures. Perform work in a construction/industrial setting with changing outdoor weather, noise, dust, confined or cluttered areas, and uneven surfaces. Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.

Requirements

• Must pass the Structural Weld Test.
• Must be able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, a fit-for-duty medical assessment, and a background check.
• Must be able to perform the physical activities required on a construction/industrial site, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; access equipment or work areas may exceed 200 feet.
• Must be able to work in confined and cluttered places and on uneven surfaces, and complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
• May be required to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction/industrial site.
• Must work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
• Preheat and weld metal components as specified by blueprints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures.
• Weld using FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW processes.
• Operate air arc gougers, grinders, stress relieving machines, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
• Make welding repairs and repair substandard welds.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
