About The Position

We are seeking a Structural Test Engineer to support aerospace materials testing, structural evaluation, and mechanical test engineering activities in Tukwila, WA. This role is responsible for developing test plans, designing and integrating test systems, executing structural and mechanical tests, validating test data, and preparing technical reports while supporting aerospace products and systems in compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in structural design, structural analysis, mechanical analysis, and/or testing.
  • Experience with pneumatic system design, maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience using CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar engineering design platforms.
  • Experience performing structural analysis using engineering fundamentals and hand calculations.
  • Ability to develop test plans, execute testing activities, and analyze engineering data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory and engineering test environment supporting multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, procedures, and test methodologies to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, industry, and company requirements.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and support structural and mechanical test systems, fixtures, tooling, instrumentation, and supporting software.
  • Review customer requirements and translate engineering objectives into executable test programs.
  • Design and implement test setups using structural, mechanical, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems.
  • Execute structural, mechanical, and materials tests through hands-on operation of laboratory hardware, test equipment, and computer-controlled test systems.
  • Operate and support test frames, data acquisition systems, and associated testing software.
  • Review, validate, analyze, and interpret test data to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with test objectives.
  • Prepare, publish, and present detailed technical reports, test summaries, and engineering documentation.
  • Research and evaluate emerging test technologies to improve testing efficiency, capability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, program, and technical teams to define and implement effective testing solutions.
  • Manage multiple testing projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule, quality, and technical objectives.
  • Troubleshoot test systems, instrumentation, hardware, and equipment as required.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and drive successful execution from planning through final reporting.
