About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to fabricate and assemble metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. The role requires welding experience, accurate measurement skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire position on the first shift in Ashland, VA, starting at $23.00 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience. The position offers the potential for continued employment and benefits.

Requirements

• Experience with Flux-Core MIG welding.
• Ability to pass a flat 1G weld test.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, and rulers.
• Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to use squares, tape measures, Bessey clamps, reachovers, levels, and hammers.
• Good communication skills and dependable attendance.

Nice To Haves

• 3G welding capability.
• TIG welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process specifications.
• Weld and fit metal components to meet dimensional and quality requirements.
• Operate welding and metal-forming equipment safely and accurately.
• Check finished work against production schedules and specifications.
• Follow Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and workplace safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while meeting quality and productivity goals.
