About The Position
We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated Steel Fitters and Structural Steel Welder/Fitters to join our team. These positions play a vital role in fabricating, fitting, assembling, and welding structural steel components while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of our projects. The ideal candidates will have structural steel fabrication experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of structural steel fabrication experience required.
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Structural Welder, or similar role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and technical drawings.
- Experience with structural steel layout, fitting, and assembly.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to set up and use a track torch.
- Ability to perform Flux Core welding and pass a pre-employment welding test.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety practices and procedures.
Nice To Haves
- AWS or other welding certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout, fitting, fabrication, and welding requirements.
- Perform structural steel fitting, layout, assembly, and welding tasks according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Measure, position, align, and fit structural steel components prior to welding.
- Perform Flux Core welding as required and ensure welds meet quality and project specifications.
- Set up and safely operate a track torch.
- Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure accuracy and quality throughout all fitting, fabrication, and welding processes.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety protocols and applicable safety regulations.
