About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Layout Fitter to join our fabrication team in Richmond, VA. This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in structural steel fitting, layout, and fabrication who take pride in producing high-quality work. Requirements

• Previous experience in structural steel fitting, layout, or fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience assembling and fitting structural steel components.
• Ability to set up and operate a track torch.
• Working knowledge of welding processes, fabrication equipment, and shop tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to following established safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

• AWS certification or other welding certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Perform layout, fitting, and assembly of structural steel components.
• Measure, mark, align, and position materials according to project requirements.
• Set up and use fabrication equipment, including a track torch.
• Verify dimensions and ensure all materials meet project specifications.
• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work area.
