About The Position

Our client, an established structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication company, is seeking experienced Structural Steel Fabricators / Welders to join its shop team. This opportunity is best suited for fabricators who are comfortable working independently from drawings, laying out and fitting their own work, and producing accurate, high-quality steel assemblies in a production shop environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in structural steel fabrication is required.
Strong fitting, layout, and welding skills.
Ability to read shop drawings and complete fabrication work with limited supervision.
Solid understanding of measurements, dimensions, weld symbols, and steel fabrication practices.
Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a fabrication team.

Nice To Haves

Experience with beams, columns, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals is strongly preferred.
Welding certifications are a plus but are not required for every candidate.

Responsibilities

Fabricate structural steel components such as beams, columns, channels, angles, plates, and related assemblies.
Build miscellaneous steel products including stairs, handrails, ladders, frames, supports, and custom fabricated items.
Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, fabrication details, and weld symbols.
Perform layout, measuring, fitting, tacking, and welding of steel assemblies.
Complete MIG, FCAW, and stick welding as required by the project.
Cut, drill, grind, cope, and prepare material for fit-up and final fabrication.
Check dimensions, alignment, and completed assemblies against drawings and specifications.
Safely operate common fabrication equipment, shop tools, and material-handling equipment.
Maintain quality, accuracy, and productivity while meeting established shop standards.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe, organized work area.
