Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years managing structural/miscellaneous steel or commercial construction projects from turnover through closeout, serving as the single point of contact with GC, erector, and internal teams.
  • Hands-on change management and contract administration experience.
  • Scheduling and logistics expertise: building/updating project schedules, coordinating fabrication needs, weekly production meeting inputs, and deliveries.
  • Clear, proactive communication with customers and stakeholders; promptly notify parties affected of delays.
  • Ability to drive issue resolution.
  • Strong blueprint/spec and document control proficiency.
  • Comfortable with Procore/Bluebeam, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Organized, detail- and safety-focused; ensure scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives are met.
  • Previous Structural Steel Fabrication or Structural Steel Construction experience in a project management role is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the planning and execution phases of assigned projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and scope.
  • Serve as the single point of contact from initial turnover through project closeout for internal and external entities involved in assigned projects.
  • Ensure the fabrication department receives all project requirements, including special quality requirements.
  • Maintain close communication with customers to ensure satisfaction, notifying them of any delays and their reasons.
  • Resolve issues and notify leadership when necessary.
  • Attend weekly Production meetings to ensure internal teams have the most recent information and schedules.
  • Review all documents and notify necessary internal and external teams impacted by changes to drawings or scope of work.
  • Write Change Orders as needed, ensuring GC sign-off or written revision to the subcontract.
  • Schedule and coordinate deliveries of Structural Steel, Bar Joist, Metal Deck, and Miscellaneous Steel.
  • Coordinate erection with Erectors.
  • Collaborate with the Contractor to ensure all field issues are resolved timely and cost-effectively.
  • Develop schedules and durations.
  • Ensure all documentation is obtained, completed, and filed appropriately.
  • Invoice customers and track outstanding invoices.
