Structural Project Engineer
About The Position
The Structural Project Engineer will join Ramboll’s structural department as part of a group of structural engineers and architects. The role is intended for someone who has passed the FE exam and plans to pursue Professional Engineering licensure within two years. The engineer maintains close relationships with project team members and clients from proposal through construction, applying structural engineering fundamentals to project deliverables. Projects may include industrial buildings, water and wastewater infrastructure, office buildings, and work supporting Ramboll’s energy division. Primary design materials include steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. The position is available in Syracuse, Binghamton, Arlington, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and 2 or more years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis software.
- Successfully passed the FE exam.
- Intent to pursue Professional Engineering licensure within two years.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and on multidisciplinary teams.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Autodesk Revit.
Responsibilities
- Complete assignments requiring knowledge of engineering fundamentals and apply those fundamentals to engineering deliverables.
- Perform engineering tasks, including preparing reports, investigatory studies, engineering design calculations, and Contract Documents.
- Maintain routine communications with project team members during proposal, design, and construction phases.
- Review schedules and budgets for projects under supervision.
- Prepare proposals and conduct efforts supporting business development activities.
- Perform detailed checking of completed work under direct supervision.
- Visit job sites to review work in progress, gain field experience, and develop practical engineering skills.
- Develop professional knowledge through participation in technical societies and internal and external training programs.
