About The Position

We are seeking a talented Structural Project Engineer with 3-6 years of experience who is passionate about innovative, sustainable design. This role focuses on working at the cutting edge of mass timber, sustainable construction, and seismic resilience in the Pacific Northwest. Holmes US is a structural engineering firm with a growing Portland office, specializing in unique and challenging projects. The engineer will design innovative building structures across multiple materials, with strong exposure to mass timber and CLT, and apply expertise in concrete, steel, masonry, and wood on projects ranging from mid-rise residential to civic and commercial. Collaboration with dynamic project teams across the US and New Zealand network, and contribution to sustainable and resilient design solutions are key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of structural engineering experience
  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • PE license
  • Seismic design experience (Cascadia Subduction Zone context is a plus)
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in ETABS, SAP, RISA
  • A collaborative spirit and problem-solving mindset
