Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations, and alterations and oversee their execution in the field. We have an opportunity for a Structural Project Engineer to join our Renewal (Structural) Practice in San Francisco. Candidates for the Structural Project Engineer position should have experience with a large range of building vintages, retrofit design application to historic and modern construction, and tenant renovation work, preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment.

Requirements

  • 4 years minimum experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
  • Experience with existing buildings for renovation and extensions is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural engineering services with emphasis towards existing buildings such as structural repair, seismic retrofit, renovation, emergency stabilization, and expansion of existing buildings.
  • Perform onsite assessment and data collection of existing buildings of all vintages and construction materials to support a range of evaluation and design based structural engineering services.
  • Assist in the direction, coordination, planning, organization, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Plan and formulate engineering program and organize project staff according to project requirements.
  • Manage other design team members and supervise the work of engineers and draft persons.
