About The Position

Techno Consult is seeking a Structural Inspector to support a major infrastructure improvement program in the Baltimore region. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile transportation project that will help modernize and strengthen critical public infrastructure for generations to come. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience inspecting structural construction activities in complex, active construction environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural elements, construction methods, quality assurance procedures, and agency compliance requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience performing construction inspection on structural, transportation, bridge, tunnel, rail, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects.
Experience working on projects for public agencies such as transportation authorities, state DOTs, transit agencies, or other government clients is required.
Strong knowledge of structural construction methods, materials, and inspection practices.
Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents.
Experience preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining project documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Baltimore area.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform daily field inspections of structural construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
Monitor contractor operations involving concrete, steel, foundations, retaining structures, rehabilitation work, and other structural elements.
Document construction progress, quantities, deficiencies, and field observations through detailed daily reports.
Review materials, workmanship, testing procedures, and quality control activities.
Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and agency representatives to address field issues and maintain project compliance.
Verify adherence to approved safety practices and environmental requirements.
Attend construction meetings and provide inspection updates as required.
Maintain accurate project records, photographs, and supporting documentation.
