About The Position

Ardurra is seeking a Water/Wastewater Inspector to join our staff in Sarasota, FL. This position is open to both part-time and full-time opportunities. Primary duties include interpreting technical specifications, contract requirements, engineering drawings, and standard construction details. Responsibilities involve observing work completion in accordance with drawings and specifications, daily field reporting, tracking contractor's installed quantities, witnessing tests, documenting test results, and serving as a liaison between the engineer, contractor, and adjacent residents and businesses. Typical projects involve the construction and/or rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, and treatment facilities. Knowledge of construction methods for water, sewer, storm drain, and dry utility pipe installations, including trenchless methods, and pipe/manhole rehab experience are strongly preferred. Knowledge of sanitary sewer testing is also required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with operating smart devices and computers are preferred. Qualified candidates may work on one or more projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 3-15 years in the Construction field or Construction Management/Field Services.
  • NASSCO Certified.
  • Background in utilities construction/inspections, including mechanical and piping construction required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of construction methods of water, sewer, storm drain and dry utility pipe installations, including open trenching and trenchless methods such as jack and bore and directional drilling, and pipe/manhole rehab experience.
  • Knowledge of sanitary sewer testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with operating smart devices and computer.
  • Previous experience in municipal utility inspections.
  • Civil Engineering related coursework/certifications, associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities
