About The Position

Collaborates with the interventional cardiologists, cardiovascular surgical team and clinical staff of multiple departments to coordinate and plan the care of cardiovascular patients who are being evaluated and selected for structural heart procedures through their pre and post-procedure care. Responsible for scheduling structural heart cases, ordering and maintaining supplies needed for structural heart cases and providing leadership in the development and conduct of training in structural heart procedures. Responsibilities

  • Oversees the scheduling and pre-authorization process for all structural heart cases.
  • Coordinates with the scheduling reps and Business Manager with scheduling and precerting of structural heart procedures.
  • Collaborates with the Nurse Practitioner to ensure CV Surgery, Anesthesia, CV Team, Cath Lab team and non-invasive teams are included in the case and scheduled with the appropriate rooms and supplies.
  • Orders and maintains all supplies for the structural cases and maintains consignment for high dollar valves.
  • Monitors utilization of supplies to ensure adequate inventory and ensures adherence to budget.
  • Attends planning meetings for TAVR, Watchman, CT planning for cases and Mitral.
  • Serves as a Lead Tech for the assigned area.
  • Provides leadership in the development and conduct of training and educational sessions for the staff and physicians in structural heart procedures.
  • Collaborates with technical staff in organizing daily workflow and patient care.
  • Monitors and participates in quality improvement and evaluation activities and meetings for all registries and develops processes to improve outcomes.
  • Performs other job functions as needed or requested.
