Traveling Structural Fitter
About The Position
Tradesmen International is hiring experienced Traveling Structural Fitters for projects in Pocatello, Idaho; West Jordan, Utah; Henderson, Nevada; and El Mirage, Arizona. This is a first-shift opportunity paying $36 per hour, based on experience, plus $120 per day in per diem for travelers who are 60 or more miles from the job site. The role involves fitting and welding structural steel while working alongside craftspeople who emphasize safety, productivity, and quality workmanship. Requirements
- Experienced structural fitter.
- Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, structural drawings, and AWS welding symbols.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, structural drawings, and AWS welding symbols.
- Measure, mark, lay out, and fit up structural steel beams, columns, and heavy plates using clamps, jacks, and wedges.
- Perform Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Safely operate fabrication equipment, including torch cutters, plasma cutters, and grinders.
- Prepare metal surfaces by grinding and cleaning joints to ensure weld penetration and eliminate defects.
