About The Position

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Structural Fitters /Pipe Fabricators for projects located in or around Jennings, LA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $28-$33/hour for Structural Fitters & $32-$36/hour for Pipe Fabricators based on experience and skill level. Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of structural fitting experience (strongly preferred)
  • Must have experience working in a fabrication shop environment
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and perform precise layout work
  • Must have experience fitting steel to tolerance and performing tack welds
  • Must have strong knowledge of structural steel components and fabrication processes
  • Must have at least 3 years of industrial pipe fabrication experience
  • Must have strong ability to read and work from isometric drawings
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment
  • Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to meet production goals

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with process piping and structural piping systems is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Fit structural steel components including beams, columns, and plate in a fabrication shop environment
  • Lay out and measure materials accurately to meet specifications
  • Fit components to required tolerances and perform tack welding prior to final weld-out
  • Align structural members and prep materials for fabrication
  • Check dimensions to ensure accuracy and structural integrity
  • Coordinate with welders for proper joint configuration
  • FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW welding as needed
  • Use flame-cutting equipment and metal-forming tools such as brakes, shears, and presses
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings and piping blueprints
  • Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and assemble carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy pipe
  • Perform pipe fit-up for welding, ensuring proper alignment and tolerances
  • Use fabrication equipment, hand tools, and measuring tools in a shop environment
  • Work closely with welders and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards
