The Structural Fitter Helper plays a vital support role in the fabrication of structural components. Working under the supervision of experienced Structural Fitters, the Structural Fitter Helper is responsible for preparing materials, supporting layout and fitting tasks, operating tools and equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Prior experience in a construction or industrial environment is a plus.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and work in varied weather conditions.
Willingness to learn and take directions from senior fitters and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Assist in measuring, marking, cutting, and positioning structural metal components.
Help set up and prepare materials and tools for fitting operations.
Hold, align, and secure materials in place while the fitter completes welding or bolting tasks.
Use hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment under supervision.
Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, and health regulations.
Support quality control efforts by checking materials and finished parts for compliance.
Help move heavy materials or components using hoists, cranes, or forklifts as directed.
Perform basic grinding, drilling, and deburring as required.
Assist in reading and interpreting simple blueprints or drawings.
