About The Position

This role involves the cutting, threading, and beveling of pipes to precise specifications using various tools. The Structural Fitter will assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment through welding and threading. Responsibilities include measuring and marking pipes, laying out full-scale drawings of pipe systems based on blueprints, and planning the layout, installation, or repair of pipe systems. The position also requires selecting appropriate pipe sizes and materials, cutting and beveling holes in components for installation, and modifying, cleaning, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment.

Requirements

• Proficiency with tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, and benders.
• Experience with welding and threading joints for pipe assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Skill in measuring, marking, cutting, and beveling pipes and components.
• Knowledge of selecting appropriate pipe sizes, types, and materials.
• Experience in modifying, cleaning, and maintaining pipe systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and bevel pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, and threading joints.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to drawings and specifications.
• Cut and bevel holes in components, prior to pipe installation, using hand and power tools.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.
