  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, fit-up, bolting, welding interfaces, dimensional control, temporary works, transport bracing, preservation, turnover, and release-for-shipment processes.
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, module drawings, specifications, vendor data, work packages, ITPs, survey records, and project procedures.
  • Working knowledge of structural codes, standards, industry practices, AISC requirements, ES&H expectations, quality control, NCRs, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
  • Understanding of structural material control, traceability, receiving inspection, mill test reports, certificates of compliance, kitting, shortages, substitutions, and preservation requirements.
  • Ability to support quantity takeoffs, installed quantity verification, progress reporting, forecasting, constraint tracking, and project controls input.
  • Understanding of module interfaces, dimensional control, direct fit-up requirements, carryover work, ship-loose items, temporary supports, and transport readiness.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills across Engineering, Construction, Quality, Materials Management, Procurement, Subcontracts, Logistics, Project Controls, Turnover, and Startup/Commissioning teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Module Yard environment, prioritize field issues, remove constraints, and maintain alignment with safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Physical ability to perform field walkdowns in an active Module Yard, including walking, climbing, accessing elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, entering confined spaces as required, and using required PPE.
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting and safely access project work areas.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Bechtel work processes, Standard Work Process Procedures, field change control, RFIs, redlines, as-built documentation, work packaging, subcontractor coordination, and project systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field engineering support for structural steel fabrication, erection, assembly, fit-up, alignment, inspection, completion, turnover, and release-for-shipment activities.
