About The Position
Barge Design Solutions is seeking a hard-working and dedicated college student for a summer internship to gain valuable work experience in structural engineering. The intern will learn from mentors and leaders while being involved in industrial and commercial building design projects, water/wastewater treatment structures, and earth retention structures. This is a paid, full-time, in-person internship opportunity.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited university
- Major: Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis
- Current GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Preference will be given to students that do not require sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Preparation of framing and foundation plans, sections, and details
- Preparation of structural calculations, including the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
- Reviewing construction submittments, such as shop drawings and product data
- Supporting Engineers in completing project deliverables
- Collaborating with team members on new ideas/innovations
- Using Autodesk REVIT
