About The Position

GFT is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for a program running from mid-May through mid-August. The intern will join the structural team and support design services for a wide variety of projects, working with experienced engineers and professionals who provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship. The role focuses on creating efficient, innovative structural system solutions that support comfortable, sustainable, and resilient built environments. Requirements

• Be enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Civil or Architectural Engineering; an emphasis in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Have prior internship, work, or applied coursework experience in structural engineering.
• Be familiar with STADD, Revit, RAMSteel, or equivalent software.
• Have basic proficiency in AutoCAD and willingness to learn Revit.
• Be experienced with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Be capable of field inspection activities such as climbing ladders and using man lifts.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.

Nice To Haves

• Working proficiency in software programs such as RAMSteel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Experience conducting structural analyses and preparing reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural calculations under the supervision of the Lead Structural Engineer.
• Coordinate structural designs to meet project requirements using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Collaborate with diverse disciplines and assist with field surveys.
• Review and organize structural shop drawings.
• Attend seminars to stay current with industry trends, as directed.
