About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their Water Management/Hydraulic Structural Team. This role will be instrumental in delivering engineering and consulting services for a variety of projects, including flood risk reduction, waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, and lock and navigation structure design. The position involves conducting structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects such as seismic risk reduction, flood mitigation, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.

Requirements

6 or more years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
Ability to write project specifications and provide engineering support during construction.

Nice To Haves

Experience designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations.
Experience delivering resiliency projects.
Previous experience working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution.
Progressive experience in structural engineering, particularly focused on infrastructure projects related to water management, flood control, and seismic resilience.
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Responsibilities

Conducts structural related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work which has a well-defined scope.
Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications.
Works toward development of calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents.
Works directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project life cycle, including client coordination.
Will exercise their own judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Will function as Project Engineer on projects to manage related budgets and schedules, lead deliverables, and leads with the development and management of plans, permit checklists, scopes of work and will facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects.
Mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff.
