About The Position

Forsgren, an Apex Company, is seeking a Structural Engineer based in Logan, Utah. The engineer will serve as a lead technical contributor throughout project lifecycles, preparing design documents, calculations, engineering plans, and specifications. The role involves independently directing junior engineering and design staff, coordinating with project managers, managing project schedules, conducting occasional construction inspections, and supporting business development through proposal assistance. The position offers opportunities to work on a variety of projects and grow within a national consulting and engineering firm.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Utah, or ability to obtain a Utah license within three months.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to manage client relationships, multiple concurrent projects, and changing work assignments.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and good written communication skills for technical writing.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with finite element analysis/modeling software such as Risa 3D, Dlubal RFEM 6, or similar.
• AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical work throughout the entire project lifecycle, including developing design documents, calculations, engineering plans, and specifications.
• Direct junior engineering and design staff on design and construction tasks, and provide regular updates to the project manager.
• Develop and complete project schedules and adapt them as needed.
• Perform occasional field work and construction inspections to verify compliance with industry and client standards.
• Assist with proposals for engineering services to support business development.
• Manage client relationships and multiple concurrent projects.
• Mentor and direct EITs while receiving direction from senior-level managers.
