About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team in Orange or Los Angeles, CA. This role will support a wide range of projects across various industries including entertainment, commercial, industrial, government, detention, and parking structures. The position offers an opportunity to develop analytical and design skills with a focus on seismic design, seismic retrofits, and advanced structural analysis methods. The Structural Engineer will work within the Buildings + Places group and contribute to shaping the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games infrastructure as the Official Venue Infrastructure Partner. The role involves building analytical and design skills, conducting engineering design under limited supervision, creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings, collecting and analyzing data, using computer software for engineering problems, and performing work within budget and schedule under supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering and 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • US Citizenship due to federal contract/security requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience applying all major structural design codes.
  • Demonstrated experience using 3-D structural analysis software. (examples include ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, and SAFE)
  • Experience designing in Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and Timber.
  • Experience with ASCE 41 for retrofit of existing structures.
  • Experience with Wind and Seismic lateral design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in use of REVIT/AutoCAD to provide production support as a portion of team support and development.

Responsibilities
