GFT is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Practice or CBG Team! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Mississauga or Toronto office. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.
  • 5 years of relevant full-time work experience.
  • Hands on experience with structural analysis and design software.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Be capable of field inspection activity such as climbing ladders, using man lifts.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and MTO Structural Manual.

Nice To Haves

  • P.Eng license.
  • Experience with local clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers by performing inspection, condition assessment, rehabilitation and structural design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and transportation related facilities.
  • Work includes steel and concrete design, AutoCAD, and use of structural programs such as CSI Bridge and SAP 2000.
  • Perform structural design calculations for concrete and steel structures and develops structural drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with various disciplines.
  • Coordinate structural design with project requirements.
  • Design of concrete and steel members such as slabs, footings, columns and beams.
  • Develop structural details.
  • Review structural shop drawings.
  • Assist with other duties assigned by Discipline Lead Engineers and/or Project Managers.
  • Lead structural design for small scale projects.
  • Attend seminars to broaden exposure and remain current on the industry.
