About The Position

We are searching for a Mid-Senior Structural Engineer to join our Professional Design Group. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant structural design experience and will be responsible for training, mentoring, and developing junior staff while providing expertise to clients and collaborating with in-house multidisciplinary teams. The role will involve scope evaluation, project planning, technical review, construction administration, quality control, and supporting Pond's construction management group in design-build efforts. Additional experience in supporting multiple markets will be a plus. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across different industries. Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant structural design experience, preferably related to industries such as civil, industrial, and infrastructure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Structural Engineering (SE) license or the ability to obtain SE licensure within six months
  • Experience using analytical software to design isolated structures and full buildings
  • Experience in drawing production using Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including but not limited to IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC
  • Familiarity with ACI 350, API 620, 650, and 653 (AWWA D100 also considered)
  • Understanding of DOD/Federal design standards and UFCs
  • Specific experience in the design of deep foundations and/or specification of soil improvements, particularly in coastal environments
  • Participation in at least one in-person interview
  • Expectation of in-person onboarding at a Pond office location
  • Satisfactory background check results
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Nice To Haves

  • Additional licenses are a plus
  • Preferred experience with RISA 3D
  • Specific experience with non-building structures is preferred
  • AWWA D100 also considered
  • Preferred understanding of DOD/Federal design standards and UFCs
