Structural Engineer
About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Bridge and Civil Design Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Houston, TX. Your role will involve assisting in the planning, design, and production of bridge and civil engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports. You will support project teams with data collection, analysis, and preparation of design documents, cost estimates, and specifications. Additionally, you will participate in field observations and construction support activities, including shop drawing reviews, progress documentation, and quality control tasks. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate design alternatives, develop innovative solutions, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards is also a key aspect of this role.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- 0–2 years of professional experience in structural or civil engineering (internship or co-op experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and support preparation of technical reports.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation
