About The Position

An industry-leading multidisciplinary team is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its Grand Rapids team. The role involves managing client relationships and projects, developing business, planning and overseeing design, and applying technical expertise in building codes and design practices. The engineer will design and assess building structures, coordinate construction-phase services, supervise staff, and ensure designs meet quality standards. Salary is commensurate with experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• At least 8 years of structural design experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software, including REVIT, RISA 3D, RISA Floor, and ADAPT.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and client relationships.
• Support business development by preparing proposals and administering project contracts.
• Plan and manage the design process.
• Apply expertise in local and national building codes and design practices.
• Supervise staff.
• Design new building structures and structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
• Prepare structural assessment reports.
• Perform structural design and detailing, including calculations and computer modeling for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
• Manage and coordinate projects.
• Perform site reviews and construction administration services during construction.
• Ensure designs adhere to QA/QC standards.
• Attend client meetings.
