About The Position
DLR Group is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer for their Renewable Energy division in Denver, CO. This role involves participating in the design process of structural systems from schematics through construction administration, preparing detailed structural engineering drawings, and performing design calculations. The engineer will contribute to designing structural systems for renewable energy projects, aiming to reduce the planet's carbon footprint.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited) in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
- Previous internship, co-op experience, or full-time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
- Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structural) workflow.
- Interest in renewable energy design, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging stations, solar canopies, microgrids, and specialty energy systems.
- Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
- Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction.
- Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
- Coordinate structural design requirements with other disciplines and project stakeholders of renewable energy projects.
