Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
8–10 years of structural design experience in infrastructure/transportation.
Strong background in project management (scheduling, budgeting, coordination).
Proficiency with structural design software (PennDOT LRFD Programs, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc.).
Knowledge of DOT, AASHTO, and state design codes and standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client/agency interaction.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in PA (or ability to obtain).
Experience leading multi-discipline project teams.

Responsibilities

Perform structural design and analysis for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and related infrastructure; prepare calculations and technical reports.
Lead preparation of structural drawing sets, details, and specifications.
Review and approve work of junior staff, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, PennDOT, and other applicable standards.
Manage client relationships, agency reviews, and permitting; respond to comments and secure approvals.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables; proactively track and adjust as needed.
Coordinate with roadway, drainage, and traffic teams for integrated designs.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
Support business development and proposal efforts for structural projects.
