Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
- Interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
- Must be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors)
- Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications
Nice To Haves
- Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
- Familiarity with Engineering Software Application including computer aided drafting, process modeling and calculations programs
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry
- Prior internship or co-op experience in Structural Engineering or related field
Responsibilities
- Responsible for basic lay out structural systems in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines.
- The Engineer conducts basic field investigations to integrate the design with existing systems and structures.
- Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
- Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
- Performing analysis of building materials for use in construction.
- Designing load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, equipment supports and foundations.
- Performing structural analysis of new and existing structured for both gravity and lateral (wind and seismic) load conditions.
- Preparing structural calculations, reports and details of structural elements that conform to client, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Utilizing computer aided drafting and a variety of engineering software.
